Character Building for 5 - 6 Year old Children through Songs

Abstract

The problem in this study is the degradation of children's character values including promiscuity, brawls and the fading of cultural values. This requires special attention in the early childhood development period so that from an early age the cultivation of children's character has begun to be implemented because they are the next generation. To overcome these problems, research was conducted to determine the effect of giving songs on children's character. The research method used is quantitative with pure experimental research type. The study population was group B at Kemala Bhayangkari 02 Palu Kindergarten with a sample of 15 children for the experimental group and 10 children in the control group. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed through significant test. The results of the significance test using the independent sample T Test test show that there is a significant relationship (p value < .001 is smaller than 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an influence on character cultivation through songs at Kemala Bhayangkari 02 Palu Kindergarten
