Meningkatkan Kosakata Siswa Kelas Tujuh melalui Penerapan Teknik Pemetaan Pikiran

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kosakata siswa melalui penerapan teknik pemetaan pikiran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Data penelitian ini diambil dari 30 siswa kelas tujuh SMPN 2 Ampana Kota. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar pengamatan untuk menilai penampilan siswa dan guru, tes kosakata, dan catatan lapangan. Tes kosakata digunakan sebagai instrumen utama penelitian, didukung oleh lembar pengamatan dan catatan lapangan sebagai instrumen pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai siswa pada tes yang diberikan. Penerapan dua siklus menunjukkan pengayaan dari pencapaian siswa. Pada tes siklus I, hampir semua siswa gagal dalam tes. Dengan mengubah langkah-langkah penerapan teknik pemetaan pikiran, semua siswa berhasil dalam tes. Mayoritas nilai siswa pada siklus II masuk dalam “kategori sangat bagus” dan mereka semua dikualifikasikan “sukses.” Hal ini dikarenakan penekanan dari penggunaan bahasa ibu ketika mengajar menggunakan teknik pemetaan pikiran membuat kosakata siswa meningkat.
