Peningkatan Penguasaan Matematika Dasar Dengan E-Book dan Mentoring Terstruktur Di Lingkungan Program Studi Teknologi Informasi

This research is motivated by the low foundational mathematics mastery among the 2025 cohort of Information Technology students, where the majority scored below the standard in the Calculus course. This condition directly impacts the students' ability to comprehend advanced courses. Therefore, this applied research aims to measure the effectiveness of enhancing foundational mathematics mastery through the integrated use of contextual E-Books and the implementation of a structured mentoring program. The evaluation instrument consisted of 30 pre-test and post-test items covering five fundamental mathematical topics. The quantitative evaluation results demonstrated a highly significant improvement in students' capabilities. The overall average score surged from 46.3 in the pre-test to 85.6 in the post-test, reflecting an 84.7% growth rate. This success was driven by the provision of E-Books that directly align theoretical concepts with specific course requirements, alongside the establishment of a collaborative peer-learning environment facilitated by the Student Association (HIMA-TI). In conclusion, the integration of E-Books and structured mentoring proved highly effective in bridging the initial competency gap, and is therefore recommended as a regular annual matriculation program.
