Improving Science Learning Outcomes of Energy Benefits Subtheme through the Problem Based Learning Model

Abstract

The background of the problem in this study is that the learning carried out by the previous teacher is not effective on student learning outcomes. The delivery of material given by teachers still does not attract students' attention so that it has an impact on learning outcomes. To be able to improve learning outcomes, students need learning capital to understand science learning materials. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of the energy benefits subtheme using the Poblem based learning model in 4th grade students of SDN Kotapulu, Sigi Regency, Semester 1 of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This type of research is a class action research (CAR) with two cycles. The subject of this study is a 4th grade student of SDN Kotapulu, Sigi Regency, which consists of 29 students. The research method refers to the development of the Kemmis and Tagart cycles. The results of science learning research with the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the learning outcomes of 4th grade students of SDN Kotapulu semester 1 of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This is based on an average pre-cycle score of 65.17 with a learning completeness of 37.93% increasing to 68.1 with a completion percentage of 62.07% in cycle 1; Furthermore, after improvements were made in cycle 2, the average learning outcome increased to 77.07 with a completion percentage of 82.76%.
