Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase students' learning motivation to the passing of the pentagon Problem Based Learning model in second grade students of Way Terusan SP 2 Elementary School. The type of research was tear class (PTK) research. The express PTK model spiral model C. Kemmis & Mc Taggart was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of three meetings and one cycle test, each cycle consisting of 4 main activities, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments used are observation sheets, questionnaires and tests. The results showed that there was an increase in students' learning motivation by using the Problem Based Learning model of the fourth aspect ARCS. From the results of the study, it was found that the motivation of students has increased . in cycle II compared to cycle I. Besides being able to increase student motivation. The use of Problem Based Learning learning models can also attract students' attention to be active in learning so that they can improve students' ability to understand learning material easily during learning activities. This result indicate problem based learning model can improve motivation student learning.
