Increasing Student’s Interest in Learning Mathematics by Using Puzzle Media in Differentiated Learning

Abstract

The researcher conducted a class action study (PTK) on differentiated learning to increase students' interest in learning mathematics using puzzle media. This research is an effort to create learning that is not monotonous in the classroom and also triggers students' enthusiasm in learning mathematics, which is considered difficult for students, and can increase students' active participation during learning and also provide good learning results and improve. The implementation of learning in this study has been adjusted to the needs and also the learning readiness of students after conducting diagnostic assessments to carry out differentiated learning. This class action research (PTK) is carried out in two cycles where each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. The results of the study showed that students in class XII D experienced an increase in interest in learning using puzzle media which was shown with a high sense of enthusiasm in learning, full focus when learning, and also involving the active participation of students. The increase in learning interest can be seen based on the results of the analysis of the students' learning interest observation sheets which in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 74% which was included in the good category, then increased to 88% in the second cycle and included in the very good category
