Penggunaan Social Networking Tools dan LMS untuk Meningkatkan Partisipasi Mahasiswa dalam Pembelajaran Kolaboratif Online

This study aims to determine the difference in the level of active participation of students in online collaborative discussions using LMS and social networking tools. The type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental form. The research design used was posttest only control group design. The study population was 56 students of the chemistry education study program semester II of the 2020/2021 academic year. The sample in this study were 38 people consisting of 8 men and 30 women. The sample was determined by class random sampling technique. The research instrument used was an assessment sheet for student activity in collaborative discussions. The data obtained is in the form of quantitative data which is then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis to describe the level of active participation of students in online collaboration discussions and inferential statistical analysis to test research hypotheses. The results show that: 1) The level of student participation in online discussion collaborative learning using social network tools is higher compared using LMS 2) There is a significant difference between the level of student participation in online discussion collaboration learning using social network tools and students using LMS.
