Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar (Dikdas) was first published in 2013 with Volume 1, Issue 1. From its inception, the journal has been established as an academic platform focusing on research, innovation, and best practices in primary education. Its main goal is to provide a space for researchers, academics, and education practitioners to share research findings, conceptual ideas, and case studies relevant to the development of primary education in Indonesia.

Since its first publication, Jurnal Dikdas has consistently released two issues per year, in May and December. This regular publication schedule allows the journal to disseminate the latest research and knowledge to the academic community. By 2022, the journal had reached Volume 10, Issue 1, reflecting a long-standing commitment to high-quality scholarly publishing.

At the end of 2022, the journal faced a significant challenge when the university’s journal website was hacked, resulting in the loss of public access to the entire digital archive. This hiatus lasted until early 2024, when the editorial team successfully restored the journal website and reactivated the digital publication system. This recovery marked a new chapter in the journal’s history, enabling it to continue publishing scholarly articles regularly and providing open access to researchers and readers.

Today, Jurnal Dikdas not only maintains its biannual publication schedule but also strengthens academic quality through a rigorous peer-review process, adherence to international publication ethics, and the use of digital technology for archiving and distribution. The journal’s history reflects perseverance, innovation, and a strong commitment to the advancement of primary education, demonstrating the editorial team’s resilience in overcoming technical challenges while maintaining the journal’s academic reputation.

With this solid historical foundation, Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar (Dikdas) continues to serve as a trusted source for primary education research in Indonesia and internationally, supporting accreditation processes and academic recognition.
