THE ROLE OF THE TEACHER TOWARDS READING DISCIPLINE IN STUDENTS' IPS SUBJECTS AT SDI IQRO BINA POTENTI PETOBO

The problem in this study is how the teacher's role in reading discipline in social studies subjects for students at SDI Iqro Bina Potential Petobo. The purpose of this research is to describe how the teacher's role in reading discipline in social studies subjects at SDI Iqro Bina Potential Petobo. This type of research is qualitative with the research population of all students of SDI Iqro Bina Potential Petobo which consists of 90 students. The sample of this research is the third grade students of SDI Iqro Bina Potential Petobo which consists of 15 students between 9 boys and 6 girls. Data collection techniques used interviews, questionnaires, documentation and data analysis to describe the technique, "Descriptive Analysis" with the formula: P = f/n x100%. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis of the 15 students who became respondents, there were 100% of students who stated that the teacher's role was sufficient. While the results of the reading discipline questionnaire analysis showed that 93.4% of students with high reading discipline and 6.6% of students stated that reading discipline was sufficient. The teacher's role greatly influences students' reading discipline in social studies subjects. The role of a good teacher can improve students' high reading discipline. So it can be concluded that the teacher is very instrumental in improving the discipline of reading in social studies subjects.
