Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was a relationship between learning styles and fifth grade students' achievement in social studies subjects at the New Inpres Elementary School. The data collection uses observation techniques, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The sample used in the study amounted to 20 students. The technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique, with a presentation of p ± 0.5 of the percentage of the population p with a 95% confidence level. The instrument used in the research process is a questionnaire to obtain data on the relationship between learning styles and student achievement. Analysis of research data using the percentage technique, while to test the hypothesis, the product moment correlation technique is used at a significant level of 5%. Based on the description, 80% of students have very high learning styles, 20% are high. Meanwhile, for student learning achievement, 20% of students have excellent learning achievement, 80% have good learning achievement. Hypothesis testing shows that the value of r count > r table or 0.4858 > rt 0.468. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between student learning styles and the learning achievement of fifth grade students at the Inpres Baru Elementary School
