PENERAPAN METODE PENEMUAN TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI KELILING DAN LUAS LINGKARAN DI KELAS VIII A SMP NEGERI 1 SINDUE TOMBUSABORA
Abstract
Abstrak: Masalah utama pada penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa di kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora dalam menyelesaikan soal keliling dan luas lingkaran yang disebabkan siswa lupa rumus yang akan digunakan, siswa cenderung pasif dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil belajar siswa dapat meningkat, peneliti menerapkan metode penemuan terbimbing dan jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian tindakan kelas. Desain penelitian ini mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni: (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan menerapkan metode penemuan terbimbing dengan langkah-langkah (1) Perumusan masalah, (2) Pemrosesan data (3) Penyusunan konjektur, (4) Pemeriksaan konjektur, (5) Verbalisasi konjektur, (6) dan Umpan balik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada tes akhir tindakan siklus I terdapat 17 orang siswa tuntas dan 8 orang siswa tidak tuntas, sedangkan pada siklus II terdapat 19 orang siswa tuntas dan 4 orang siswa tidak tuntas. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi keliling dan luas lingkaran di SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora.

Abstact: The main problem of this research is that the result of students learning at grade VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora in doing the test of circumference and circle area is low. It is because the students are easy to forget about the formula that will be used, and they are also passive in the learning process. To make the result of students learning increased, the researcher applies guided discovery method. The kind of this research is classroom action research. The design of this research is based on Kemmis and Mc. Taggart research design which is: (1) planning, (2) applying, (3) observing, and (4) reflection. This research is conducted on two cycles by applying guided discovery method by using some steps, such as (1) finding the problem, (2) processing the data, (3) compiling the supposition, (4) checking the supposition, (5) verbalizing the supposition, and (6) feedback. The result of research show that in posttest of cycle I, there are 17 students who can be passed the test and 8 students who cannot be passed the test. Meanwhile, in cycle II, there are 19 students who are passed the test and 4 students who are not passed the test. Therefore, it can be concluded that guided discovery learning method can increase the result of students learning in material of circumference and circle area at SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora.
