PENERAPAN METODE PENEMUAN TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI PENJUMLAHAN DAN PENGURANGAN BILANGAN BULAT DI KELAS VII MTS NEGERI MODEL PALU

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk memperoleh deskripsi mengenai penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa Kelas VII MTs Negeri Model Palu pada materi  penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada desain penelitian oleh Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A yang berjumlah 39 siswa terdiri dari 23 siswa laki-laki dan 16 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang setiap siklusnya terdiri dari empat komponen yaitu: 1) Perencanaan, 2) Pelaksanaan tindakan, 3) Observasi, dan 4) Refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui observasi, tes tertulis, wawancara dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri Model Palu pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat, melalui beberapa langkah : 1) Perumusan masalah, 2) Pemrosesan data, 3) Penyusunan dugaan sementara, 4) Pemeriksaan dugaan sementara, 5) Penarikan kesimpulan, dan 6) Penerapan konsep.  Hasil tes akhir tindakan siklus I menunjukkan bahwa 28 siswa memperoleh nilai di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal sehingga ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa hanya mencapai 75,67% dan hasil tes akhir tindakan siklus II menunjukkan bahwa 35 siswa memperoleh nilai di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal sehingga ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa mencapai 92,10%.

Abstrack: This research was aimed to obtain a description of the application of guided discovery methods to improve student learning outcomes at Class VII MTs N Model Palu on material addition and subtraction of integers. This research was a classroom action research which refers to the research design by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects were students of class VIII A totaling 39 students and consisting of 23 male students and 16 female students. This research was conducted in two cycles in which each cycle consists of four components, namely: 1) planning, 2) Implementation of the action, 3) observation, and 4) Reflection. Data collection techniques gained through observation, written tests, interviews and field notes. The results showed that the application of the method of guided discovery can improve learning outcomes of students of Class VII MTs.N Model Palu on material addition and subtraction of integers, through several steps: 1) Formulation of the problem, 2) Processing of data, 3) The provisional estimates, 4) Inspection provisional estimates, 5) Withdrawal conclusion, 6) Application of the concept. The results of the final test at the first cycle showed that 28 students scoring above the minimum completeness criteria that classical learning completeness students only reached 75.67% and the final test results show that the second cycle of 35 students scoring above the minimum completeness criteria that classical learning completeness students reached 92.10%.
