Dari RIS Ke NKRI : Proses Kembali ke Negara Kesatuan dan Implikasinya bagi Stabilitas Politik
Keywords:
The formation of the Indonesian state is a continuous historical process reflected in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, as well as the long journey from the Youth Pledge to the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence. After independence, Indonesia underwent a change in the form of the state to the Republic of Indonesia Serikat (RIS) as a result of the Round Table Conference. However, the implementation of the federal system in the RIS gave rise to various problems, such as weak national integration, the emergence of regional political interests, and increased foreign influence in government. This study aims to analyze the transition process from the RIS to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and its implications for political stability. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach by examining various historical sources and scientific literature. The results of the study indicate that the federal system is not in accordance with the spirit of unity of the Indonesian nation, thus giving rise to a unitarism movement supported by national figures and the wider community. The process of Indonesia's return to a unitary state in 1950 strengthened national integration and contributed to political stability. However, this process also presented challenges in the form of adjustments to the government system and the potential for regional conflict. National unity is the main key to maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.Abstract
