Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the implementation of the Civics learning process in fostering democratic attitudes of class XI IPA E students at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo; (2) to determine the impact of the Civics learning process on the democratic behavior and attitudes of class XI IPA E students at SMA Contry 1 Ampibabo. . The type of research used is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The unit of analysis in this study were students of class XI IPA E as well as subjects. Informants 1 PPKn teacher and 8 students of class XI IPA E with purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the Civics learning process in fostering the democratic attitude of class XI IPA E students was carried out through two strategies. First, through learning materials for polite behavior in Pancasila democracy in accordance with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Second, through various learning methods, discussion methods, lectures and questions and answers, and media used whiteboards, worksheets, and module books, from the application of what the Civics teacher gives to students makes students behave more politely in accordance with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. The impact of the Civics learning process on the democratic behavior and attitudes of class XI IPA E students is that students become more tolerant, respectful, free to express opinions, become open and communication, as well as to uphold togetherness between students with one another. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Civics learning process in fostering democratic values ​​for class XI IPA E students at SMA Contry 1 Ampibabo can be accepted by all students which can be seen from the behavior of students that reflect democratic values ​​both in class and outside the classroom.
