PROFIL BERPIKIR SISWA KELAS VIII SMP DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA ALJABAR BERPANDU PADA TAKSONOMI SOLO DITINJAU DARI TINGKAT MOTIVASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan profil berpikir siswa kelas VIII SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aljabar berpandu pada taksonomi SOLO ditinjau dari tingkat motivasi belajar matematika tinggi dan rendah. Penelitian  ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Tombusabora. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian diambil dua siswa dari 20 siswa kelas VIII yang mengikuti tes skala motivasi belajar matematika kemudian mengerjakan tes superitem. Siswa dikelompokkan dalam dua yakni siswa motivasi belajar matematika tinggi dan rendah. Setiap tingkat motivasi belajar matematika diwakili oleh satu siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil berpikir subjek dengan motivasi belajar matematika tinggi berada pada level berpikir unistruktural, multistruktural, relasional dan abstrak yang diperluas. Sedangkan profil berpikir subjek dengan motivasi belajar matematika rendah berada pada level berpikir unistruktural, multistruktural dan relasional.

Abstract: This research aims to explain thinking profile of the VIII graders of SMP in finishing story aljabar exercises based on taksonomi solo, considerated of the level of students’ motivation to learn math in high and low category. The subjects were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tombusabora.The kind of this research is descriptive research with qualitatif approach. The subject of this research was taken two of twenty students who joined the test. The students were classified in two categories, those were students who high motivation and students who low motivation in learning math. Every category was represented by one student. The result of this research shows that thinking profile of the subject with high motivation in learning math be on unistructural, multistructural, relational and abstract level which expanded. While thinking profile subject with low motivation be on unistructural thinking, multistructural, and relational level.
