PROFIL KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA OPERASI PENJUMLAHAN DAN PENGURANGAN PECAHAN DI KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 14 PALU

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang profil komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak tiga siswa yaitu siswa berkemampuan tinggi (SKT), siswa berkemampuan sedang (SKS), dan siswa berkemampuan rendah (SKR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil komunikasi matematis SKT, SKS dan SKR dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan pada indikator menggunakan representasi untuk menggambarkan situasi masalah pecahan yaitu subjek dapat merepresentasikan maksud soal dengan cara menuliskan informasinya dalam bentuk point-perpoint dan dinyatakan dalam bentuk gambar tetapi SKR keliru menuliskan informasi pada soal pecahan operasi hitung campuran; pada indikator mampu menuliskan jawaban penyelesaian masalah pecahan yaitu subjek mampu menuliskan jawaban penyelesaian masalah pecahan cukup lengkap, mulai dari informasi soal hingga urutan langkah-langkah penyelesaiannya, tetapi SKS belum memahami cara penyelesaian soal pecahan operasi hitung campuran dan SKR belum memahami cara mengoperasikan pecahan-pecahan tersebut setelah disamakan penyebutnya; pada indikator menggunakan bahasa matematika dan simbol secara tepat yaitu subjek dapat mengubah informasi soal menjadi model matematikanya dan dapat menentukan operasi hitung yang digunakan serta dapat menuliskan pecahan dan penyelesaiannya dengan benar, tetapi SKS tidak menuliskan operasi hitung ketika memulai penyelesaian masalah dan SKR belum mampu menyamakan penyebut dengan menggunakan KPK; pada indikator mampu menyampaikan atau menjelaskan jawaban penyelesaian masalah pecahan yang dituliskannya yaitu subjek dapat menjelaskan kembali jawaban penyelesaian soal sesuai dengan jawaban yang dituliskannya.

Abstract: This research aims to obtain a description of mathematical communication profile of students in solving the problem story of adding and subtracting fractions operation at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu. The type of this research was case study with qualitative approach. Research subjects used in this research as many as three students who are high ability student, medium ability student, and low ability student. The result of the research shows that the mathematical communication profile of high ability student, medium ability student, and low ability student in finishing the story of the addition and subtraction of fractions on the indicator using representation to describe the situation of the fraction problem that is the subject can represent the purpose of the problem by writing the information in the form of points and can be expressed in the image form but medium ability student erroneously writes information on the matter of fractions of mixed count operations; on the indicator is able to write the answer to the problem of fractional problem is the subject to write the answer to the problem of complete fractional problem, ranging from the information problem to the sequence completion steps, but the medium ability student does not understand how to solve the problem of fractions count operations and low ability student not understand how to operate the fractions after the equalization of the denominator; in the indicator using mathematical language and symbols precisely the subject can change the problem information into a mathematical model and can determine the calculation operations used and can write the fractions and completion correctly, but the medium ability student does not write the counting operation when starting the problem solving and low ability student has not been able to equate the denominator using least common multiple; on the indicator is able to convey or explain the answer to the problem of fractions that written is the subject can explain back the solution to the problem resolution in accordance with the answers written.
