PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TALKING STICK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA TEOREMA PHYTAGORAS

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita teorema Phytagoras di kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 2 Palu. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yaitu 1) perencanaan, 2) tindakan, 3) observasi, dan 4) Refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hasil observasi aktivitas guru siklus I dan siklus II memperoleh kriteria taraf keberhasilan sangat baik. Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa siklus I yaitu memperoleh kriteria taraf keberhasilan baik, dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II yaitu memperoleh kriteria taraf keberhasilan sangat baik. Dari hasil penelitian yang diperoleh maka dapat disimpulkan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita teorema Phytagoras di kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 2 Palu dengan mengikuti fase-fase sebagai berikut: (1) menyampaikan tujuan dan mempersiapkan siswa, guru menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran, memberikan apersepsi dan motivasi; (2) menyajikan informasi, guru menginformasikan model pembelajaran serta menjelaskan kegunaan tongkat dan intrumen musik; (3) mengorganisir siswa ke dalam tim-tim belajar, guru membagi siswa dalam 6 kelompok yang beranggotakan 5-6 siswa; (4) membantu kerja tim dan belajar, guru membagikan LKPD kepada setiap kelompok dan meminta siswa untuk saling bekerjasama; (5) mengevaluasi, guru menjalankan tongkat secara estafet dengan bantuan intrumen musik dan memberikan pertanyaan kepada siswa yang memegang tongkat saat musik dihentikan serta guru bersama siswa membuat kesimpulan dan (6) memberikan pengakuan dan penghargaan, guru memberikan penghargaan individu dan kelompok terbaik.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the application of the talking stick cooperative learning model in an effort to improve student learning outcomes in solving the Pythagorean theorem story problem in class VIII E of SMP Negeri 2 Palu. This research is a class action research that refers to the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, namely 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, and 4) Reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that the observations of the activities of the first and second cycles of the teacher obtained very good success criteria. The results of observations of the activities of students in cycle I are getting good success criteria, and having an increase in cycle II that is getting very good success criteria. From the research results obtained, it can be concluded that the application of the talking stick cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes in solving the Pythagorean theorem story problem in class VIII E SMP Negeri 2 Palu by following the phases as follows: (1) conveying the objectives and preparing students , the teacher conveys the learning objectives, provides apperception and motivation; (2) presenting information, the teacher informs the learning model and explains the use of sticks and musical instruments; (3) organizing students into learning teams, the teacher divides students into 6 groups of 5-6 students; (4) helping team work and learning, the teacher distributes the worksheet to each group and asks students to cooperate with each other; (5) evaluates, the teacher runs the baton in a relay with the help of musical instruments and gives questions to students who hold the stick when the music is stopped and the teacher with students draw conclusions and (6) gives recognition and appreciation, the teacher gives the best individual and group awards.
