Abstract

This study aims to identify the events surrounding the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence in order to analyze its historical and contextual aspects. This study focuses on a series of crucial events, such as the background to the proclamation, Japan's defeat in World War II, the Rengasdengklok Incident, the formulation of the proclamation text, its interpretation, and its historical significance. Contextually, the events leading up to the proclamation marked the birth of an independent nation, driven by the spirit of struggle to maintain independence. This study demonstrates the understanding that the events surrounding the Proclamation of Independence are crucial for understanding international relations, internal dynamics, and the birth of historical decisions that could determine Indonesia's future.
