PROFIL PEMECAHAN MASALAH SISTEM OPEN ENDED TENTANG LUAS DAERAH LINGKARAN PADA SISWA SMPN 20 PALU

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan  Pemecahan Masalah Open Ended Tentang Luas Daerah Lingkaran pada Siswa SMPN 20 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan tahap-tahap pemecahan masalah dari Polya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil pemecahan masalah open ended pada siswa yang memiliki: (1) kemampuan tinggi: a) memahami masalah, pada tahap ini siswa dapat mengidentifikasi hal yang diketahui dengan kalimat pernyataan dan hal ditanyakan dengan kalimat pertanyaan. b) membuat rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa memisalkan lebar paving terlebih dahulu kemudian mencari selesaiannya dengan rumus luas lingkaran dan persegi panjang. c) melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa melaksanakan sesuai yang direncanakan dan menemukan beberapa solusi dari masalah yang diberikan. d) memeriksa kembali jawaban, pada tahap ini siswa mengecek langkah perlangkah hasil pekerjaannya dan melakukan perhitungan ulang dari hasil yang diperoleh. (2) kemampuan sedang: a) memahami masalah, pada tahap ini siswa dapat mengidentifikasi hal yang diketahui dengan kalimat pernyataan dan hal ditanyakan dengan kalimat pertanyaan. b) membuat rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa memisalkan lebar paving terlebih dahulu kemudian mencari selesaiannya dengan rumus luas lingkaran dan persegi panjang. c)  melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa dapat menerapkan strategi-strategi pemecahan masalah dengan tepat yang telah direncanakan dan mendapatkan beberapa solusi dari masalah yang diberikan. d) memeriksa kembali jawaban, pada tahap ini siswa mengecek langkah perlangkah hasil pekerjaannya dan melakukan perhitungan ulang dari hasil yang diperoleh. (3) kemampuan rendah, a) memahami masalah, pada tahap ini siswa dapat menyebutkan hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan namun tidak dapat semua informasi dari masalah yang diberikan. b) membuat rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa tidak mampu menentukan cara atau strategi untuk memecahkan masalah. c)  melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah, pada tahap ini siswa tidak tepat menggunakan informasi yang diketahui sehingga jawaban yang diperoleh salah. d) memeriksa kembali jawaban , pada tahap ini siswa tidak dapat  memeriksa kembali jawaban.

Abstract: This study aims to describe the Open Ended Problem Solving Profile of the Area of ​​Circle to Student SMPN 20 Palu. The type of this research is qualitative research with qualitative descriptive approach based on problem-solving steps from Polya. The results show that the open-ended problem-solving profile of students who have: (1) high ability: a) understanding the problem, at this stage the student can identify what is known by the statement sentence and the question is asked with the sentence of the question. b) make a problem-solving plan, at this stage the students are to first paving the width of the paving then look for the completion with the formula of the circle and rectangle. c) implement a problem-solving plan, at this stage the student performs as planned and finds some solutions to the problem. d) re-examine the answers, at this stage the student checks step steps of work and re-calculation of the results obtained. (2) moderate ability: a) understanding the problem, at this stage the student can identify the known thing with the statement sentence and it is asked with the sentence of the question. b) make a problem-solving plan, at this stage the students are to first paving the width of the paving then look for the completion with the formula of the circle and rectangle. c) implement a problem solving plan, at this stage students can apply the exact problem-solving strategies that have been planned and get some solution of the problem given. d) re-examine the answers, at this stage the student checks step steps of work and re-calculation of the results obtained. (3) low ability, a) understanding the problem, at this stage the student can mention what is known and asked but can ‘t all information from the given problem. b) create a problem-solving plan, at this stage students are unable to determine ways or strategies to solve the problem. c) implement a problem-solving plan, at this stage the student is not appropriately using the known information so that the answer obtained is wrong. d) review the answer, at this stage the student can’t re-examine the answer.
