PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN QUANTUM TEACHING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI PENJUMLAHAN DAN PENGURANGAN BENTUK ALJABAR DI KELAS VII A SMP NEGERI 11 PALU

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar di kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 11 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini ialah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengacu pada model desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 24 siswa di kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 11 Palu dan dipilih 3 siswa sebagai informan. Penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching melalui 6 fase, yaitu: (1) fase tumbuhkan, peneliti menumbuhkan keinginan siswa untuk belajar dengan memberikan motivasi kepada siswa untuk mempelajari materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar; (2) fase alami, peneliti memberikan kesempatan pada siswa mengerjakan LKPD sesuai pengalamannya, kemudian siswa mengamati video pembelajaran yang menayangkan penerapan konsep materi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari; (3) fase namai, peneliti meminta siswa mencoba menjelaskan, melakukan operasi dan menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual penjumlahan dan pengurangan bentuk aljabar; (4) fase demonstrasikan, peneliti memilih perwakilan kelompok untuk menunjukkan hasil diskusinya dan memberikan kesempatan kelompok lain untuk menanggapi; (5) fase ulangi, peneliti mengarahkan siswa untuk menyimpulkan dan mengulangi kembali inti materi yang telah dipahami; dan (6) fase rayakan, peneliti memberikan penghargaan berupa hadiah pada kelompok berdasarkan peringkat terbaik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching, hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari siklus 1 sebesar 47,62% ke siklus 2 sebesar 77,27%, lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan mengikuti fase-fase model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching, yaitu siklus 1 berkategori baik dan siklus 2 berkategori sangat baik.

ABSTRACT: This research aims to describe the application of Quantum teaching learning model that can improve the students’ learning outcomes of addition and subtraction of algebraic in class VIIA SMP Negeri 11 Palu. The type of this research is classroom action research that refers to Kemmis and Mc.Taggart’s design which consists of planning, application of treatment, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research is 24 students of class VIIA at SMP Negeri 11 Palu, and 3 of them as the informant. The application of quantum teaching learning model passed some steps, as follow: (1) grow, the researcher make the students’ interest in learning grow by motivating them through the benefit of studying the addition and subtraction of algebraic in daily life; (2) experiencing, the researcher gives the chance to the students to do the task on the LKPD based on their experiences, then the students observe the video that shown the implementation of the concept in daily life; (3) naming, the researcher ask the students to explain and do the operation of addition and subtraction of algebraic, and solve the contextual problem of addition and subtraction of algebraic; (4) demonstrating, the researcher choose one student of each group to show their works, the give the same chance to the other groups to give the response; (5) repeating, the researcher asks the students to repeat the material which has been discussed together; (6) celebrating, the researcher gives an award to the groups based on the best rank. The result of this research is that the students learning outcomes improve 47.62% on cycle I, and 77.27% on cycle 2 by applying the quantum teaching learning method, observation sheet of teacher and students activity also show the improvement from good category on cycle I, and very good category on cycle II.
