PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TWO STAY TWO STRAY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DI KELAS VIII A SMP NEGERI 9 PALU PADA MATERI STATISTIKA

Abstract

Abstrak: Permasalahan yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Palu pada materi statistika. Selain itu pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru lebih menggunakan metode konvensional sehingga pembelajaran cenderung terpusat pada guru. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray yang memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk bekerjasama dalam kelompok dan saling tukar informasi dengan kelompok lain.                Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 9 Palu pada materi statistika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc Taggart terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan dan pengamatan, serta refleksi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS dapar meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas VIII A pada materi statistik yaitu dengan langkah-langkah 1) menyajian materi sabagai pengetahuan pengantar sebelum diskusi kelompok 2) membagi kelompok secara heterogen 3) membimbing diskusi kelompok dengan melibatkan setiap anggota kelompok untuk berdiskusi secara aktif 4) mengarahkan proses berbagi informasi melalui kegiatan saling mengunjungi 5) membimbing siswa mencocokkan hasil diskusi dengan hasil kunjungan 6) memfasilitasi presentasi kelompok 7) memberi penghargaan untuk membuat siswa termotivasi untuk terus belajar.

Abstract:The main problem that started this research was students’s low learning outcome at grade VIII SMP Negeri 9 Palu on statistics material. In addition, the teacher tended to apply conventional learning methods thus the learning activities were centalized towards the teacher. To overcome this problems, researcher applied cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray which gave students chances to worked together in a team held informations exchange with other team. This research aimend to obtain descriptions about the application of cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray that could improve students’ learning outcome at grade VIII A SMP Negeri 9 Palu on statistics material. This research is a classroom action research in accordance to desain by Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consisted of planning, action and obsevation, and reflection. The result of this research is that the application of cooperative learning model of TSTS was indeed improve students’ learning outcome at grade VIII A SMP Negeri 9 Palu wich was being done by 1) giving material insight as preparation for group discussion 2) determining members of each group heterongenely 3) giving assistance the group discussion wich enganged every members within each groups 4) guiding and observing while sharing ther toughts with othe group(s), 5) giving assistance evaluating informations they heve got from the group sharing 6) fasilitating classroom presentation 7) giving rewards to students to make them motivated to keep learning
