CONTRIBUTION OF MULTICULTURAL VALUES IN PREVENTING RADICALISM IN SOCIETY

The diversity of ethnic groups, cultures, ethnicities, languages, races and religions makes Indonesia a multicultural country. This diversity has become a very fascinating mosaic as well as very prone to conflict. The inability to care for diversity can result in an exclusive attitude that can trigger social conflicts with SARA nuances, which are worrying and can disrupt the order of social life based on Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution within the framework of the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The diversity that exists in Indonesia makes the concept of multicultural values very urgent to be immediately developed and implemented in social life. One of the efforts made to create and build mutual respect (mutual respect), mutual understanding (mutual understanding), and mutual trust (mutual trust) to the differences that exist in society is to instill multicultural-based values. Thus, the inculcation of multicultural values can be seen if in the implementation of coaching the community succeeds in forming and building good character in each individual to be mutually tolerant, not hostile and not in conflict caused by differences in ethnicity, culture, ethnicity, language, race and religion.
