IMPROVING READING FLUENCY IN GRADE III STUDENTS OF SDN PENGAWU THROUGH GAME-BASED LEARNING METHODS

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' fluent reading ability in Indonesian subjects with a Game Based Learning Method. This research is a Class Action Research that has two cycles and four stages, namely Planning, Implementation of Actions, Observation, and Reflection. The research subject is Grade III Students of SD Pengawu which is 17 people, consisting of 7 female students and 10 male students. There are two data collection techniques used, namely teacher and student observation sheets, and learning outcomes. The results of the research and data analysis are known that in Cycle 1 the Individual Learning Completeness of 6 People out of 17 Students was obtained with a Classical Learning Completeness Percentage of 46.15% and Classical Absorption of 62.30% as well as the Results of Student Activities of 46.73% with the Sufficient Category and the Results of Teacher Activity Observation of 71.25% with the Good Category. Cycle II was obtained by students who completed 15 out of 17 students, with a Classical Completeness Percentage of 84.61% and classical absorption of 81.53% as well as the results of student activity observation of 80.76% with the good category and the results of teacher activity observation of 88.75% with the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Game-Based Learning Method can improve the Fluent Reading Ability of grade III students of SD Pengawu in Indonesian subjects.
