Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of literacy activities in grade III of SD Negeri Anca. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart, which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle carried out systematically to improve the learning process. The subjects of this study were 21 third-grade students. Data were collected through observation and student learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches by calculating the percentage of learning completeness. The results showed that literacy activities significantly improved students’ learning outcomes. The classical learning completeness increased from 33% in the initial condition to 100% after the implementation of literacy activities. In addition, the observation results of both teacher and student activities showed improvement, categorized as good. Therefore, literacy activities are effective in improving students’ learning outcomes.
