Abstract

This study aims to improve the storytelling ability of second-grade students at SDN Sibonu in Indonesian language learning by using image media in the “Knowing Feelings” material. This research is a classroom action research conducted in repetitive cycles. The subjects of the study were 20 second-grade students of SDN Sibonu, consisting of 11 male and 9 female students. The results showed that students' storytelling ability improved. In cycle I, the classical learning completeness (KBK) reached 55%, then increased to 85% in cycle II. The average classical absorption score (DSK) in cycle I was 60.4% and increased to 77.4% in cycle II. The observation results of teacher activities in cycle I were 69.4% in the adequate category, while student activities were 41.6% in the very poor category. In cycle II, there was a significant improvement, where both teacher and student activities reached 91.6% in the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of image media can improve students' storytelling ability on the “Knowing Feelings” material in second-grade students of SDN Sibonu.
